Let’s start with the thing most articles on this topic won’t say: Easypaisa does not pay you money. It is a bank and a wallet — a rail that money travels along, not a source of it.
That distinction matters, because “Easypaisa earning apps” are one of the most common scam categories in Pakistan. They borrow the name, ask for a deposit, show you a growing balance, and disappear. Easypaisa has no affiliation with any of them.
What Easypaisa genuinely does is remove the two biggest friction points for a Pakistani earning online: getting paid by local clients, and holding money somewhere that pays you something while it sits there. Here are eight methods that work, sorted by how much they realistically return.
What Easypaisa Actually Is Now
Worth knowing, because it changed recently and most people haven’t registered it. On 28 January 2025 the State Bank converted Telenor Microfinance Bank into Easypaisa Bank Limited, making it Pakistan’s first digital retail bank. It is no longer just a wallet.
In practice that means full digital current and savings accounts, transaction limits reaching PKR 100 million on upgraded accounts, term deposits, and profit paid on balances. The scale is substantial — Easypaisa processed over 4.5 billion transactions in 2025, worth more than PKR 15 trillion, and reaches roughly one in five Pakistanis.
Methods 1–4: Getting Paid Through Easypaisa
These are the ones that actually move the needle. Easypaisa isn’t the income here — it’s the destination.
1. Local clients paying you directly. If you design logos, edit videos, write content or manage social media for Pakistani businesses, Easypaisa is the path of least resistance. No IBAN to dictate, no branch visit, no cheque. Send your number, money arrives. For a beginner charging PKR 3,000–15,000 per project, this removes the single most common excuse a local client gives for delaying payment.
2. Online tutoring and teaching. Quran teaching, matric and O-level tuition, spoken English — collected monthly via Easypaisa. Realistic: PKR 10,000–60,000 a month depending on student count. Parents already use the app, which makes collection far easier than it sounds.
3. Reselling and affiliate payouts. Markaz, Daraz affiliate commissions and similar local platforms pay into Easypaisa or a linked bank account. Zero capital required since you never hold stock. Realistic: PKR 5,000–50,000 monthly.
4. A QR code for a home business. Home bakers, tailors, tuition centres and resellers can take payment by QR rather than chasing cash. It costs nothing to set up and makes your record-keeping automatic — which matters more than people expect once income becomes regular.
For international earnings, note the limitation honestly: freelance income from Fiverr and Upwork arrives via Payoneer, not Easypaisa directly. Payoneer withdraws to a Pakistani bank account, and from there you can move funds wherever you like. Methods 5–6: Making Idle Money Work
This isn’t earning in the active sense, but for anyone holding a balance it’s the difference between money doing nothing and money doing something.
5. Digital Savings Account. Easypaisa’s digital savings account pays around 9.5% annualised profit, credited monthly, with no minimum balance requirement. On a PKR 100,000 balance that’s roughly PKR 790 a month for doing nothing but leaving it there.
6. Term deposits. Fixed tenures with higher rates — currently around 13% for 7 days, 12% for one month, 11% for three months and 10.5% for six. Your money is locked for the term. For freelancers holding a client advance or a tax reserve, the short 7-day option is genuinely useful.
| Product | Rate | Access to funds | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Digital Savings Account | ~9.5% annualised | Anytime | Everyday balance |
| 7-day term deposit | ~13% | Locked 7 days | Short-term parked cash |
| 1-month term deposit | ~12% | Locked 1 month | Tax money set aside |
| 3-month term deposit | ~11% | Locked 3 months | Emergency fund |
| 6-month term deposit | ~10.5% | Locked 6 months | Savings goal |
Rates change. Check the app before committing, and note that these are conventional profit-bearing products — if riba is a concern for you, look at Islamic banking alternatives instead, where the underlying structure is different.
Methods 7–8: The Smaller Ones
7. Becoming an Easypaisa retailer or agent. If you run a shop or have a suitable location, you can operate as an Easypaisa agent handling cash-in and cash-out, earning commission per transaction. Requirements and commission structure are set by Easypaisa and vary — contact them directly rather than relying on figures you read online, including mine.
8. Cashback, rewards and referrals. The app runs periodic cashback on bill payments, mobile top-ups and merchant purchases, plus referral rewards for bringing in new users. This is money off your spending rather than income, and it will never amount to a livelihood — but it’s free, and it stacks quietly.
The Scam You Will Definitely Encounter
Search this topic and you’ll find apps promising PKR 500–5,000 daily “through Easypaisa.” The pattern is always the same:
- Download is free, browsing is free, and the dashboard shows earnings accumulating
- Withdrawal requires an “activation” or “verification” deposit of PKR 300–2,000
- Early small withdrawals succeed, building trust before a larger deposit is requested
- Income accelerates only if you recruit others
- The app disappears, usually within a few months
Easypaisa is a licensed bank supervised by the State Bank. It does not run investment schemes paying daily returns, and it does not partner with apps that do. If an app uses the Easypaisa name to promise income, that name is being borrowed without permission.
The single rule that catches all of these: money should flow toward you, never away from you. We’ve covered this in more depth in our guide to earning online in Pakistan without investment.
A Sensible Setup
- Upgrade to a full Digital Account. The basic wallet has low limits that will constrain you quickly once client payments start arriving.
- Keep earnings separate from spending. One account for income, one for daily use. This makes tax filing dramatically easier later.
- Park your tax money in a term deposit. Set aside what you’ll owe, earn profit on it until it’s due.
- Use Payoneer for international income, moving funds onward as needed. Easypaisa handles the local side; it isn’t a substitute for a Payoneer account.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I really earn money through Easypaisa?
Not from Easypaisa itself — it’s a bank, not an employer. You earn from freelancing, tutoring, reselling or a small business, and Easypaisa is where that money lands. The exception is profit on savings and term deposits, which is return on balance rather than income.
Are Easypaisa earning apps real?
No. Easypaisa does not operate or endorse any app promising daily earnings. Apps using the name to request deposits are scams, and any balance they display is not real money.
How much profit does an Easypaisa savings account pay?
Around 9.5% annualised on the digital savings account, credited monthly with no minimum balance. Term deposits pay more — roughly 10.5% to 13% depending on tenure — in exchange for locking your funds. Rates change, so confirm in the app.
Can I receive Fiverr or Upwork payments in Easypaisa?
Not directly. Those platforms pay through Payoneer or a bank transfer. Withdraw to a Pakistani bank account first, then move funds as you wish. Our list of online earning apps that actually pay in Pakistan covers which platforms use which payout route.
Is Easypaisa safe for receiving business payments?
Yes. It’s a State Bank–licensed digital retail bank, not an unregulated wallet. Standard precautions apply: never share your PIN or OTP, and treat anyone requesting either as a fraudster regardless of who they claim to be.
What is the difference between an Easypaisa wallet and a Digital Account?
The wallet is the basic mobile account with lower transaction limits. The Digital Account is a full bank account with substantially higher limits, profit on balance, and access to term deposits. If you’re receiving client payments, upgrade.
The Short Version
Easypaisa solves the collection problem, not the earning problem. For a Pakistani earning from local clients it’s close to essential — instant, universal, and free to receive into. For international freelance income it’s the last step in a chain that starts with Payoneer.
What it will never be is a source of income by itself. Any app suggesting otherwise is using a trusted name to take money from people who don’t have much to spare.
